For NinjaTrader 8 on your own Windows PC
Your rules, run the same way every time.
Mastbound Trader is Windows software that runs the trading rules you choose on your own NinjaTrader 8. Each built-in template stops at its own trades per day, stop and cut-off time and closes the bot's position at your flatten time while a run is going (not after Stop or /pause), and Home shows your room to each firm limit you typed.
This beta places orders only on NinjaTrader's practice accounts (Sim101 and Playback101). It does not connect to real or prop accounts. Live accounts are in testing; no date is promised. If Mastbound Trader won't install or connect on your PC and we can't fix it in one session, you get a full refund, whatever the date.
Your rules
A built-in template, rules you describe in your own words, or webhook alerts. You set every number: templates start from the same example numbers for everyone, for you to change, and the alert message the app gives you leaves the stop and target for you to fill in.
Mastbound Trader, on your PC
Waits for your setup, stops at your template's trades per day, stop and cut-off time, and sends the order. Skips the day when the rules say so, and tells you why.
NinjaTrader 8
Holds the account and places every order, with its stop and target. In this beta: the practice account only.
Who it's for, and who it isn't for yet
For you if
- you trade futures on NinjaTrader 8, on your own Windows 10 or 11 PC;
- you have rules you want run the same way every time;
- you want to rehearse them on NinjaTrader's practice account before anything else;
- you'd like your room to your firm's limits shown on screen, your flatten time enforced while a run is going, and a message on your phone when something happens.
Not for you yet if
- you're on a Mac only (join the waitlist), a VPS, a cloud PC or a virtual machine;
- you want it on an account at a firm that bans automation, such as Apex, Take Profit Trader or Alpha Futures, or bans bought bots, like TradeDay (their rules, quoted);
- you want live orders on a real or prop account today: this beta doesn't connect to them;
- you're looking for a strategy that makes money. We don't sell one.
How it works, in three steps
-
Check your PC, install, connect NinjaTrader
Go through "Will it run on my PC?" first. Setup takes about 25 minutes and restarts your PC once. Then three steps inside NinjaTrader: compile, add OrderFileConnector (Mastbound Trader's add-on) to an MNQ 1-minute chart on Sim101, tick Enabled. Quick setup on Mastbound Trader's Home ticks them off as it sees them done. Plan on about an hour, mostly waiting. Operator includes a 20-minute setup call.
-
Choose your rules and your limits
From your recording (In testing): upload a recording of your own trading. The app writes the rules it can see, asks about what it cannot, and shows you the card to approve. It never decides for you. Sampled frames are sent for analysis only with your consent, using the AI included in your subscription (Coming soon): no AI key needed.
Pick a built-in template (Range Breakout, Liquidity Sweep with lines you draw on your chart, or the study templates based on publicly taught concepts), describe your own rules in plain words, or connect webhook alerts. "Describe your own" gives you a prompt for any chatbot you like. The prompt tells the chatbot to ask you for every number and not to pick one. Chatbots can ignore that, so read the card. Then choose your firm's preset, or "My firm isn't listed" and type your own numbers.
-
Start my day: observe, then practice orders
One button checks that NinjaTrader is sending prices, the time zone, the account (Sim101), your firm's numbers and today's strategy. Observe comes first: it shows what it would do and sends nothing. Paper orders on Sim101 start only when you tick the consent box.
What it does
Execution
Places the order your rules describe, with the stop and target on your rules card, through NinjaTrader's own order template.
Limits
While it's running, each built-in template stops at its own trades per day, stop and cut-off time, and closes the bot's position at your flatten time (not after Stop or /pause). Home shows your room to each firm limit, as you entered them; a template's orders are not checked against those limits one by one. Trades you place by hand are not guarded.
Time
Set the window and the rules once. It watches and messages your phone (Discord or Telegram) when something happens. From either one you can check status, pause, or close everything. Those commands cannot submit entries. With the separate Approve on phone feature (In testing), tapping Take can submit the displayed MNQ practice entry on Sim101 after fresh checks.
Discipline
It follows the rules card you approved, every time. If today doesn't fit your rules, for example a range that's too wide, it skips the day and tells you why.
If any of them stops, Mastbound Trader can't act. Keep your broker's or firm's app on your phone so you can close a position yourself.
Every feature, each marked Available, In testing or Coming soon: webhook alerts, Flatten & stop, From your recording, the decision journal, and the three ways to run: Observe, Approve on phone and Paper orders.
Is it safe?
It runs on your PC
The app, your rules and your records stay on your own computer. Nothing trades from our servers.
We never hold your broker login
Your NinjaTrader login stays in NinjaTrader. Any other login you save and your phone bot's details stay on your PC. None of them reach us.
Every order needs your rules, your alerts or your Take
An order goes out only because rules you approved, or alerts you armed, said so, or because you tapped Take. /status, /pause and /flatten can't open a trade.
Flatten is never blocked
No limit, setting or approval can stop Flatten & stop. It still needs your PC, your internet and NinjaTrader running, so keep your broker's app on your phone too.
What it does not do
- No trading advice and no winning strategy. Templates are generic examples, the same for everyone. They're not recommendations, and we haven't shown that any of them makes money.
- No real or prop accounts in this beta. It places orders only on NinjaTrader's practice accounts. The firm tiles show the practice account measured against your firm's rules, not your real account.
- It doesn't guard trades you place by hand in NinjaTrader.
- It can't act when your PC sleeps, crashes or loses its connection, or when NinjaTrader stops.
- It doesn't run on a Mac yet, or on a VPS, a cloud PC or a virtual machine. Setup stops at once on a virtual machine and says so.
- It doesn't hide automation from anyone. Your firm's written rules win, every time.
- It never logs in to your prop firm and never sees your NinjaTrader login. NinjaTrader keeps your login, and nothing about your trades reaches us unless you email it to us.
- No promise of any result. Futures trading can lose money.
What it looks like
These results are based on simulated or hypothetical performance results that have certain inherent limitations. Unlike the results shown in an actual performance record, these results do not represent actual trading. Also, because these trades have not actually been executed, these results may have under-or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated or hypothetical trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to these being shown.
Screens from the practice account, Replay or Market Replay are simulated. We crop out profit and loss figures.
Your firm's written rules win
Some prop firms ban automated trading: Apex, Take Profit Trader and Alpha Futures say so in their rules, and TradeDay bans bots bought from a third party. Mastbound Trader isn't for accounts at those firms. Rules change, so read your firm's current rules, and if you're not sure, ask them in writing before you use Mastbound Trader on any account. Their exact words, with links and dates.
